PORTAGEVILLE -- Former Portageville High standout J.T. Williams, who was a first team all-Southland Conference basketball pick for McNeese State last season, has signed a contract with the NBA Developmental League.

Williams will be among the players selected in a 12 team draft next week, will then spend a couple of weeks of training camp and will begin his season the first part of November.

A two year letterman and starter for the McNeese State University Cowboys, Williams averaged 15.8 points and 5.5 rebounds for McNeese last season. He received his degree last May.
