SIKESTON - The Red Hat Society of Portageville was the grand prize winner in the adult category of the 62nd Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival parade competition. They received $1,000.
Other winners in the the adult category were: first place winner and receiving $600, Concordia Lutheran Church; second place ($500), Good Humor-Bryers; and third place ($400), Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
In the student category the Sikeston Area Christian Home Schoolers won the $250 first prize. Second place of $150 went to Cub Scout Pack 41 and third place prize of $100 went to Trinity Gospel Church.
