CHICAGO -- A Sikeston native was killed after being crushed in a conveyor belt while working Saturday at a printing plant in Chicago.

The body of Isaiah Shannon, 44, of Chicago was found caught in a conveyor belt about 10:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Shannon was a contract worker for the Chicago Tribune's printing plant. Chicago Tribune spokesman Michael Dizon said the death occurred at Freedom Center, the newspaper's printing plant. Dizon also said authorities ruled the death an accident.
