Franklin D. Berry

MORLEY - Franklin D. Berry, 74, died at 11:20 p.m. June 22, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 24, 1933, in Charleston, to the late Jesse Ray and Nellie Bell Hooker Berry, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and worked as an elevator operator for J&F Construction and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5368 in Morley.

On March 14, 1959, in Denison, Iowa, he married Joan Hixson, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one brother, Charles Berry of Perryville; and 13 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with a memorial service to be conducted at 7 p.m. His nephew, Gary Bruns will officiate.
