SIKESTON - Kenneth Hopwood, 83, formerly of Doniphan, died April 2, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Sangamon County, Ill., son of the late William and Villa McDonald Hopwood, he had lived for over 50 years in Sikeston, where he was employed with Semo Motor Company as a manager of the Auto Body Shop. He attended Athens, Ill., High School and was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II.
On April 28, 1945, in Springfield, Ill., he was united in marriage to Jena Faye Green, who preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2006.
Two brothers, Warren and Earl Hopwood; and one sister, Evelyn Herr also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two brothers, Lloyd Hopwood of Lubbock, Texas, and Glen Hopwood of Malden; and one sister, Phyllis Bast of Springfield.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Graveside services will follow in the Doniphan City Cemetery. Bob Bullock will officiate.
