DUDLEY -- A Stoddard County woman was killed in a vehicle collision near Dudley on Friday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred around 6:25 a.m. on U.S. Highway 60 at the Missouri Highway 51 junction, five miles west of Dudley.
A vehicle southbound driven by Beverly A. Smith, 61, of Puxico, pulled into the path of a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Bernard L. Carver, 59, of Ava, Ill. Both vehicles then went off the south side of the roadway. Smith, who was partially ejected, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:47 a.m. by Dale Sifford, deputy coroner.
Carver was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
