EAST PRAIRIE -- The East Prairie Eagles' comeback fell short in a 14-12 loss to Fredericktown on Saturday.

M.C. Williams scored from 4 yards out with 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Eagles to within two points at 14-12. A two-point conversion attempt to tie failed.

East Prairie (1-3), behind a solid defensive effort, led 6-0 at the half on Williams 3-yard touchdown run. The workhorse back provided the bulk of the offense with 190 yards on 37 carries.

East Prairie visits Chaffee on Friday.
