CAPE GIRARDEAU - Lillie Ruth Taylor, 97, formerly of Sikeston, died Jan. 13, 2008, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 31, 1910, in Warm Springs, Ark., to the late Thomas Foster and Paulena Whittenburg King, she had been a homemaker and a foster grandparent at Kenny Rogers Children's Center. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
On Feb. 8, 1929, she married Dempse Taylor, who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1977.
One son, two brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Glen Taylor of St. Louis and Billy Taylor of Gulfport, Miss.; five daughters, Ruthine Modglin and Betty Taylor of Sikeston; Lequita Morris of Norman, Ark., and Charlotte Taylor Drury and Bunny Taylor Keesee, of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Wilma of Corning, Ark., and Tommie of Kansas City; and 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Tommy Gerrish, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
