SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. James Mocabee left this morning for Dawson Springs for a vacation.

SIKESTON - The Rev. Duward Penry will be installed as pastor of the First Christian Church Sunday at 3 p.m. Dr. Lester B. Rickman of Jefferson City, general secretary of the Christian Church for Missouri, will deliver the sermon of installation.

NEW MADRID - A connecting link in the paving of Interstate 55 has been completed south of New Madrid. The workers used a machine that chemically cures concrete in the building of the pavement.

SIKESTON - The Designated Driver Program, sponsored jointly by the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce and Southwestern Bell Telephone, is one of 100 programs across the country that will be recognized Thursday at the White House in Washington, D.C.


SIKESTON - Children from the "Kids Corner" day care center at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Sikeston were enthralled and amazed as they toured the Missouri Delta Medical Center Monday.

SIKESTON - Scheffer's Office Furniture and Business Machines conducted a ribbon cutting to officially open their new showroom and warehouse.


SIKESTON - Seville's BBQ, in downtown Sikeston, recently celebrated their opening with a ribbon cutting. Present at the ribbon cutting were members from the Chamber of Commerce and Seville employees.
