POPLAR BLUFF - Dr. Michael D. "Mike" Laseter, 62, died April 19, 2007, at the St. Louis University Hospital.
Born Feb. 13, 1945, in Sikeston, son of the late Emerson and Aileen Byrd Laseter, he was a retired physician and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, had served an internship at Vanderbilt University as well as Duke University, completed a residency at the University of Missouri and practiced medicine at Kneibert Clinic in Poplar Bluff for nearly 20 years. He was a Board Certified Diplomat of American Board Internal Medicine, a member of the College of Physicians, a previous Director of Continued Medical Education Committee of Doctor's Regional Medical Center/Kneibert Clinic and a member of the CME Committee.
On April 22, 1995, in Poplar Bluff, he married Donna Harrison who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Isaac Laseter of the home and David Laseter of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Leslie Frazier of Poplar Bluff and Joey Boyd of Carl Junction; two brothers, Jerry Laseter and Robert Laseter of Sikeston; one sister, Tammy Laseter Hollowell of Huntington, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.
One son, Michael Paul Laseter, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Kurt Schuermann officiating.
