SIKESTON - Carrie Mae Clinton Smith, 82, died Dec. 24, 2006, at her home. Born Sept. 1, 1924, in Sikeston, to the late Ora Hilton and Flossie Helen Davis Clinton, she was a housewife and homemaker. SIKESTON - Carrie Mae Clinton Smith, 82, died Dec. 24, 2006, at her home.

Born Sept. 1, 1924, in Sikeston, to the late Ora Hilton and Flossie Helen Davis Clinton, she was a housewife and homemaker. She had worked for International Shoe Company for 15 years and also had worked at the Lamp and Fan in Sikeston and Luber's Dress Shop. For 65 years she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy Hobbs and Pat and Steve Taylor of Sikeston; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sue and Dorma Angle, Lavern Burton and Sandy Groves of Sikeston; five grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki and Stan Weaver of Germantown, Tenn., Justin and Tara Taylor of Sikeston, Garrett and Dr.Trisha Taylor of Columbia, Donnie and Sheila Beggs of Sikeston and Jennifer and Dr. Barry Vescovo of Memphis, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Weaver of Germantown, Lauren and Brooke Taylor of Sikeston, Dylan Taylor of Columbia and Taylor, Shelby and Bryce Beggs of Sikeston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Raymond and Margaret Smith of the state of Oklahoma, Helen and Floyd Smith of St. Louis and Lora Clinton of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Rick Ramsey, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Donnie Beggs, Barry Vescovo, Stan Weaver, Justin Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Barry Vescovo and Austin Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Luber, Byron Luber, Charlie Luber, Paul Luber, Tom Luber, Greg Luber, Dorma Angle, Mike Taylor and Richard Pelczynski.
