NEW MADRID - Tommie D. Palmer, 91, died peacefully Jan. 27, 2007, at the New Madrid Golden Age Center.
Born April 24, 1915, in Tennessee, daughter of the late John Wesley and Dora Clifton Brashier, she was a homemaker and a Christian. She moved to New Madrid in 1954 with her husband.
On Sept. 9, 1930, in Dyersburg, Tenn., she married C.T. Palmer who preceded her in death on May 10, 1990.
In addition to her parents and husband, three children, Ralph Elton, Jerry Wayne Palmer and Betty Jean Tuten, and one grandchild, Jason Bradley Palmer, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Edward Palmer; seven grandchildren, Chuck Palmer, Ralph Palmer, David Palmer, Kirk Palmer, John Palmer, Justin Palmer and Laura Griffin; and 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home at New Madrid where services will be held at noon Tuesday with Shane Williams of the Lilbourn Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery at Dyersburg, Tenn., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and child.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chuck Palmer, Ralph Palmer, David Palmer, Kirk Palmer, John Palmer, Justin Palmer and Scott Griffin.
