SPRINGFIELD -- Dr. and Mrs. John L. Doggett, formerly of Sikeston, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during two events held Aug. 18 and 19 at Creekside at Elfindale.
Doggett and the former Mary Wallis were married Aug. 18, 1946, at Centenary Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. They have four children, Jim, Laura, Martha and John David; and six grandchildren, Jed, Colin, Tess, Alexis, Cara and Hannah.
Doggett is a veteran, having served in the Seabees in World War II and the Army Dental Corps in the Korean War. After Doggett retired from dentistry and Mrs. Doggett retired from economic development in Sikeston, they moved to Springfield in October 2003. They live at Creekside at Elfindale.
