KANSAS CITY -- Kathleen Rebekah Storms and John Robert Vines Jr. were united in marriage during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony June 24, 2006, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Kansas City. The Rev. Thomas Holder celebrated the nuptial Mass.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. W. Michael Storms of Kansas City, and grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. DeFeo Jr. of Jefferson City and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Storms of Kansas City. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Geneva Mingrone of Kansas City.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Vines of Dexter. He is the grandson of Geneva Nelson of Bloomfield and the late Wheeler Nelson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Vines.
Attending her sister as maid of honor was Melissa Storms of Kansas City. Bridesmaids were Molly Storms of Kansas City, sister of the bride; Emily Vines of Dexter, sister of the bridegroom; Erin VanDyke from Abingdon, Md., friend of the bride; and Megan Textor of Grandview, friend of the bride.
Lt. Scott Mattingly of Kapolei, Hawaii, served as best man, and groomsmen were Shawn Guethle of Mission, Kan.; Ryan Greer of Dexter; Chris Wunderlich of Dudley; and Chris Turner of Dexter, all friends of the bridegroom.
Serving as ushers were Chris Storms and Max Storms of Kansas City, brothers of the bride; and Michael Williams and Matt Ternes of Dexter, friends of the bridegroom.
Guest books attendants were the bride's aunt, JoAnn Harrison of Lee's Summit, and Kristen Mattingly of Kapolei, friend of the couple.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance were held in the foyer of Archbishop O'Hara High School in Kansas City.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 23 at V's Italiano Ristorante in Independence. Following the dinner, members and guests of the wedding party attended a Royals baseball game at Kauffman Stadium.
Mrs. Vines is a 2006 graduate of Truman State University, where she earned a master's degree in secondary education. Vines is also a 2006 graduate of Truman State University with a master's degree in English.
After a honeymoon to Athens and the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos, the new Mr. and Mrs. Vines are residing in St. Louis.
