SIKESTON - The newest public park is taking shape with installation of a space platform sliding board and five saddle-mate rocking animals located at Prairie and Edmondson. Other equipment which will be installed is a merry-
go-round, seesaws, two swing set and a horizontal ladder. Equipment will be purchased by the Junior Women's Club and the park board.

SIKESTON - The Armory is being decorated for the Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Gen. Maxwell Taylor, special advisor to the president on Vietnam will speak.
CHARLESTON - If the dogwoods and azaleas are in bloom, can the festival be far behind? Plans for the 19th Annual Dogwood-Azalea Festival at Charleston have been finalized and the event is scheduled for April 23-25, beginning on Thursday night with the selection of royalty.
BENTON - The Kelly Lady Hawks saw the Notre Dame Lady Bulldogs score four runs in the top of the sixth inning, but Kelly was able to hang on to win the game, 11-10. "This was the closest game we have had this year and I knew it would be," said Kelly coach Rhonda Evans.
