CAPE GIRARDEAU -- James Louis "Jimmy" Adams, 34, formerly of East Prairie, died at 6:30 p.m. April 12, 2007, at his home.

Born July 25, 1972, in Charleston, the son of Larry E. Adams of East Prairie and Linda Gentles Lopes of Olympia, Wash., he moved from East Prairie to Jacksonville, N.C., in 1982. He returned to East Prairie and then moved to Cape Girardeau in 2005. He had been employed as manager of several pizza restaurants including Mazzio's Pizza in Sikeston and Monster's Pizza in Jacksonville, Fla., and was currently employed at Spartech Plastics in Cape Girardeau. He was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include: three sons, Ryan Adams and Dylan Ray Adams of Richmond Hills, N.C., and Dustin Padgett Adams of Jacksonville, N.C.; one stepson, Jessie Crews of Richmond Hills; two brothers, Samuel Chisenall of East Prairie and Toby Adams of Paducah, Ky.; three sisters, Penny Deaver of Richlands, N.C., Eva Chisenall of Swannanoa, N.C., and Monica Sanders of Paducah; one stepsister, Amanda Combest of East Prairie; his stepmother, Joyce Adams of East Prairie; and his fiance, Gladys Marie Deffendall.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time for services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. David Dowdy, pastor of St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
