SIKESTON - Emma Louise Butler, 95, died at 1:30 p.m., Dec. 15, 2006, at the Miner Nursing Center. Born Sept. 27, 1911, at Randles, to the late James Clark and Emma Lee Holmes, she had previously lived in St. Louis where she was a seamstress and men's suit tailor at Scruggs, Vanderverk and Barney Department Store. She lived in Sikeston for many years, where she worked as a seamstress for the Elite Shop Ladies Store...

SIKESTON - Emma Louise Butler, 95, died at 1:30 p.m., Dec. 15, 2006, at the Miner Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 27, 1911, at Randles, to the late James Clark and Emma Lee Holmes, she had previously lived in St. Louis where she was a seamstress and men's suit tailor at Scruggs, Vanderverk and Barney Department Store. She lived in Sikeston for many years, where she worked as a seamstress for the Elite Shop Ladies Store.

On March 17, 1928, in Benton, she married August V. Butler, who preceded her in death in April 1984.

Three brothers, two sisters and one stepbrother also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Goodman and Beverly Ann Thorp of Florissant; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-

great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon Monday until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
