BLOOMFIELD - Zenoba Smothers, 97, died Feb. 3, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Born Jan. 28, 1910, near Swinton, daughter of the late Linnie Ridge Hobbs and Logan A. Hobbs, she was a homemaker and an active member of the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield, where she taught and worked in vacation Bible school. BLOOMFIELD - Zenoba Smothers, 97, died Feb. 3, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 28, 1910, near Swinton, daughter of the late Linnie Ridge Hobbs and Logan A. Hobbs, she was a homemaker and an active member of the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield, where she taught and worked in vacation Bible school. She had resided in Cape Girardeau for the past three years.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Pam Smothers of The Villages, Fla., and Gary and Linda Smothers of Bloomfield; and two granddaughters, Diane Sherry Case of Santa Monica, Calif., and Pamela Tennant of Decatur, Ala.; and five great-granddaughters, Meghann, Abby and Oliva Tennant and Leah Jane and Natalie Case.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Burial followed in the George Cemetery.
