WHITEWATER -- John Lee Kennedy, 78, died at 9:20 p.m. Feb. 2, 2007, at his home. Born April 5, 1928, in Perkins, son of the late Henry Lee and Rosa Lee Simmons Kennedy, he was a retired farmer, a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta and the VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau and a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II...

WHITEWATER -- John Lee Kennedy, 78, died at 9:20 p.m. Feb. 2, 2007, at his home.

Born April 5, 1928, in Perkins, son of the late Henry Lee and Rosa Lee Simmons Kennedy, he was a retired farmer, a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta and the VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau and a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.

On March 4, 1951, he married Patsy L. Taylor who preceded him in death on May 24, 2005.

One son, three sisters and three stepbrothers also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: three sons, John Kennedy of Sedgewickville and Patrick Kennedy and Miles Kennedy of Chaffee; one daughter, Terri Hubbert of Zalma; one sister, Grace McNelly of Advance; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with the Revs. Eric Hodge and Robert Poe officiating.

Burial with full military rites will follow.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Miles Kennedy, Bill Miller, Gary McClain and Jason Maloney.
