CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston track and field boys and girls were swept in a dual meet at Cape Central on Tuesday.
The difference in the boys scoring was Cape Central's dominance in the relay events, winning all four for a total of 20 points.
"Cape, in my estimation, has the best boys team around and we're chasing them," said Sikeston coach Jerry Dement. "I don't think we're competing at our potential yet in the relays. We lost both speed relays by a hair. This is a learning experience for the girls. Cape has a very, very strong team and we don't have our depth yet. But I think the girls will keep getting better. They've been working hard."
Although the Bulldogs weren't victorious, they did have several individuals set personal records in some events.
Sikeston will compete in the Murphysboro Invitational this weekend.
