Dorothy Vandeven

BLOOMFIELD -- Dorothy W. Vandeven, 91, died Nov. 16, 2006.

Born Jan. 9, 1915, at Leopold, daughter of the late John Herman and Mary Hulshof Elfrink, she lived most of her life in the Bloomfield Community where she retired in 1977 from Elder Manufacturing. She was a member for the past 46 years of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter.

On June 27, 1935, she married Edward H. Vandeven who preceded her in death on March 16, 1995.

Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Vandeven and John Vandeven of Bloomfield and Dale Vandeven of DeSoto; two daughters, Kathleen Barr of St. Louis and Joan Rowland of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Sylvester Elfrink of Advance; and 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Johns Catholic Church in Leopold. The Rev. Robert Landewe will officiate.

Burial will follow in the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery at Leopold.
