CHARLESTON -- A Memphis, Tenn., man who turned himself in for shooting a Sikeston man Monday night in Charleston has been released on bond.

Eddie Mills, 31, turned himself in Thursday for his alleged involvement in shooting Olando Sheron, 28, of Sikeston, according to the Charleston Department of Public Safety.

A warrant had been issued which charges Mills with first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

At about 7 p.m. Monday, Charleston DPS received phone calls of gunshots heard in the 700 block of Vine Street.

Responding officers found Sheron has been shot, according to Capt. Robert Hearnes. The victim was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for medical treatment.

Mills was released after posting a $250,000 bond.
