Mary Sitton

DEXTER - Mary Christina Sitton, 97, died Feb. 19, 2007, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.

Born Dec. 19, 1909, in Bollinger County to the late William A. And Lorena Myers Shell, she was a homemaker. A member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she was also a member of the Golden Age Quilters Club and active with the Dexter Senior Citizens Center.

On May 11, 1935, in New Madrid County, she married Paul W. Sitton, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1964.

Also five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Charles Sitton of Sikeston; three daughters, Marian Chittenden of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Ellen Dowdy and Joyce Clark of Dexter; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Louis Lowe will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
