BERNIE -- Glenda Joann Gregg, 72, died Feb. 19, 2007, at her home.

Born Nov. 2, 1934 at Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of the late Lloyd and Nancy Iona Reed Lemmons, she was a retired school teacher and had taught at Bernie Public Schools for 23 years. She had also taught at Dudley, Vanduser, Sikeston and one year in Imperial Beach, Calif., for a total of 31 years. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, the Stoddard County Retired Teachers Association, the Missouri State Teachers Association, the National Christian Counselors Association and the Bernie Study Club. She was active in community services such as Meals on Wheels, workshops such as NASV and other health outreach workshops. She was a teacher at the Tuesday School at the Bernie Church of Christ where she was a member.

On May 29, 1966, at Sikeston, she married Stanley Thomas Gregg who preceded her in death on May 25, 1993.

One brother, Perry Lemmons, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Danny Gregg of Dexter, Kenny Gregg of Bloomfield and Matthew Gregg of Monroe, La.; two daughters, Patsy Hardy of Bloomfield and Jennifer Mayes of Clarklake, Mich.; two sisters, Carol Smith and Sheryl Frazier of Sikeston; and 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bernie Church of Christ in Bernie with Stan Dauck officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
