DEXTER -- Ida V. Cowan, 89, died Feb. 19, 2007, at the Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter.

Born March 4, 1917, at Marmaduke, Ark., to the late William and Lura Kimmitt Rose, she was a housewife and member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.

On March 22, 1947, at Dexter, she married William Henry Cowan who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1990.

One son, Thomas Eugene Cowan; two sisters, Eva Hollis and Alti Corlew; and two half-brothers also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: four grandsons, Thomas E. Cowan Jr. of Carbondale, Ill., Nathan L. Cowan of Carterville, Ill., and Joshua P. Cowan and Jacob R. Cowan of Marshall, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rose of Dexter.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rainey-

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Roger Wooten will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
