SIKESTON - A Sikeston resident was robbed early Monday morning after armed men forced their way inside his home.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety received the report just after 7 a.m. According to the victim, Eddie Mills Sr., two black males came to the rear door of his home at 523 Delmar around 3:30 a.m., knocked on the door then forced their way inside.

Mills began fighting with them in the kitchen area, at which time they put a gun to his head. One subject then went to the bedroom and took an undisclosed amount of money and the two fled out the back door.

Mills suffered a blow to the head and received treatment for the laceration from South Scott County Ambulance personnel. Mills stated he was a little dazed from the attack which was the reason for the delay in reporting the incident to DPS.

Officers were able to locate a small quantity of money with blood on it, along with a weapon that was apparently used in the robbery, a short distance from the victim's home.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DPS detective at 471-6200 or 471-1500.
