SIKESTON - Twenty adult education classes are expected to be offered at Sikeston High School this fall. Classes will meet each week for 12 weeks.
NEW MADRID - Three executives from a pulp and paper company, together with officials from Woodbine Investment Co. of California and E.B.S. Management Consultants Inc. met with the officers and directors of the Delta New Madrid Paper Corporation over the weekend.

NEW MADRID - Despite the drizzle, 32 contestants graced the Main Street stage in New Madrid Thursday evening. Heather Thornbrough, 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Thornbrough of Malden, was crowned Junior Miss American Legion. Tonight Miss American Legion will be selected.

SIKESTON - Bolen Bros. Nursery is putting a retainer wall at the back of the property where it meets the street and separates Dudley Park. The approximate $8,000 project is being completed to beautify the property, the city and to help the loss of dirt from the nursery's ground. Bolen Bros. worked in conjunction with the city which supplied a few hours of heavy equipment use and replacement dirt.
SIKESTON - After such a heart-wrenching defeat at the hands of rival Charleston last week, Sikeston won't have time to catch a breath with defending Kentucky 1A state champion Mayfield rolling into town Friday. Mayfield is 3-0 and has only given up seven points. For Sikeston to come out of this dogfight with a win, the Bulldogs will have to play one big defensive game.
