Wava Gillespie

DEXTER - Wava Lee Gillespie, 70, died Sept. 14, 2006, at her home.

Born March 6, 1936, in rural Dexter, to Ruth Allstun Larsen of Bloomfield and the late William Norvel Larsen, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and volunteered at the Bootheel Youth Camp.

On Dec. 23, 1954, in Bloomfield, she married Dale Gillespie, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Bruce Gillespie and Rodney Gillespie of Charlotte, N.C., and Kyle Gillespie of Dexter; one daughter, Gail Nelson of Dexter; one brother, Norman Larsen of Apple Springs, Texas; two sisters, Leah Phillips of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Hazel Perry of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren.

One brother, Lee Larsen preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dexter Church of Christ with Jim Faughn and Don Bahr officiating.

Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
