HOLCOMB -- James "Sam" Sinyard Jr., 59, died Sept. 11, 2006, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Ill.

Born Sept. 23, 1948, in Hawkinsville, Ga., he was raised by his grandparents, the late William and Maybelle Sinyard. He lived most of his life in Georgia before moving to Holcomb nine years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 21, 1999, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., he married Belva Brigman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, James Brian Sinyard Sr. of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters, Cheree Dawn Talent and Cheryl Diane Baynard of Hendersonville; two brothers, Larry Joe Sinyard and James Allen Sinyard of Gordon, Ga.; three sisters, Patricia Adams and Cindy Adams of Hawkinsville, Ga., and Regina Sinyard of Tifton, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Roger Ogelvie of New Madrid will officiate.
