CARUTHERSVILLE - A Caruthersville man was arrested after a 16-year-old girl contacted authorities to say she had been kidnapped.
At 8:11 p.m. Saturday, Caruthersville Police received a call from the girl, who stated she had been kidnapped from Oklahoma City, Okla., a week earlier. The girl told authorities after the man left the residence on Eighth Street in Caruthersville she was able to find a cell phone to call for help.
The girl was told to leave the residence and was met by officers who took her into protective custody.
Officers from the police department and the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department began watching the residence and after a short time took Devin C. Wilson, 34, into custody.
During a search of the residence, evidence was seized related to the case, according to a news release from the Caruthersville police.
Wilson was charged by Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Hazel with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), felony exploitation of a minor and second degree statutory rape. He is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail in lieu of $210,000 bond.
Caruthersville Police are waiting to hear from Oklahoma authorities on whether they will seek kidnapping charges against Wilson.
