ST. CHARLES -Willie J. Carlson, 89, died Feb. 11, 2007, at the S. S. M. Medical Center in St. Charles.
Born Sept. 19, 1917, at Bernie, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Lelia Ida Smith Howell. A chef, she was owner and operator of Billie's Cafe in Bellflower, Calif., and a member of Harvester First Baptist Church in Harvester.
On June 9, 1962, at Bellflower, she married to Loren Carlson who preceded her in death on May 9, 1997.
Three brothers, Rubert Howell, Reuben Howell and Jack Howell: and four sisters, Ruth Faulkner, Gladys Smith, Wilma Adams and Virginia Smith also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sisters, Dorothy Botsch of Bernie, Opal Rodgers of Jackson and Mary Davis of Dexter; one sister-in-law, Joyce Howell Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Joe Helms will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
