CAPE GIRARDEAU - A Pemiscot County woman has pled guilty on felony drug charges.

Tammie Kennedy, 41, of Steele, entered a plea of guilty to one felony count of unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine in a court appearance Tuesday before U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber.

Kennedy now faces a maximum of 20 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, or both, with the court imposing a period of supervised release of no more than three years.

With her plea, Kennedy admitted that in April she was arrested after accepting money intended to pay for a large number of pseudoephedrine pills which had been delivered to a confidential informant for the Bootheel Drug Task Force. A search of her property in Steele resulted in the seizure of an additional five ounces of pseudoephedrine.

Sentencing is set for April 23 in Cape Girardeau.

A co-defendant, Calvin Lee, will also be sentenced on April 23.
