BENTON -- The Scott County Sheriff's Department was recently awarded an assortment of photo, video, and printing equipment from Canon and The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Recognizing the need to make equipment and technology available for law enforcement to effectively investigate cases of missing and exploited children, Canon worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to provide equipment at no cost to agencies like the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office received two Canon photo printers, a Canon digital camera, a Canon digital video camera, and a Canon scanner/fax.
The department will use the equipment to augment its ability to investigate crimes against children and to facilitate the timely dissemination of information.
News of the award was followed within minutes by delivery of the equipment.
The grant application for the equipment was written and submitted by Shawn Wood, office manager for the Sheriff's Department, and County Developer Joel Evans.
