Speakout 10/16

Monday, October 16, 2006

I wish there was something somebody could do about these people who call every 15 minutes through the day and night. About this is Paul and he wants to do something about the satellites, and this is John and he wants to do this, that and the other. I'm getting sick and tired of it, it's about to drive me crazy. This goes on from the time you get up in the morning until the time you go to sleep at night. They wake you up and want to sell you a satellite dish and I'm sick of it. Please put this in SpeakOut where someone may see it and keep their butts off of my phone.

Sign up, at no charge, for the National Do Not Call Registry by calling 1

-888-382-1222. You will have to call from the phone number you want listed. The Missouri No Call Registry number is 1-866-662-2551. This should prevent the bulk of such calls.

Excuse me, I would like to address the person on Oct. 4 who was complaining about our police force. If they don't like the job our police force is doing, then they can go to the academy and they can get out in the middle of the street, and fight the thugs that run up and down the middle of the street. There is a young man looking for a loan to go to the police academy. Why doesn't the person complaining about our police force give him the loan and we can have one more good policeman on our side? We have a very good police force and I'm sorry that this person feels the need to down our city police. If they would help a little, maybe our town would be a lot nicer, a lot cleaner, a lot safer. But we do have a good police force. Guys, keep up the good work, girls too.

I would like to know if anyone can tell me where I can buy some homemade German potato salad. I'm not talking about the canned variety, but like homemade from a deli.

I'm a St. Louis Cardinal fan and I hate the Cubs. I just got finished watching a documentary on HBO and I think it's about the time we start rooting for the Cubs. These people need a World Series worse than we do. If they can beat the Cardinals next year and win the division, we really need to back them and support them to the World Series and kill the goat.

Isn't it hypocritical when the President says we're against gays, we're moral religious people and then turn right around and have a gay Congress? Next time you get to vote, stop and think what kind of hypocrite you are putting in. God said to use your brain.

Mike Jensen will you explain to the people what a 10 and 12 cent raise on your taxes mean at the end of the year? The way they quoted it in the paper it's only 12 cents more. It adds up to 24 cents on every hundred or every thousand. For example if your house is worth $70,000 or $90,000 you are going to be paying twice the amount you would normally be paying for your taxes. They try to make it sound like it is just 12 cents more a year, but it's not 12 cents more a year, it's 12 cents more on every hundred or every thousand of what your property value is. If you want your taxes to double, vote yes on it. It's gonna cost the people way too high and we won't be able to afford our house.

This is to the person who wrote in the paper about living without disability. You can try getting a job. If you are under the age of 65, you don't have cancer or diabetes, then you should be at work. If you have your arms and your legs, then you ought to be able to work. There's too many people not working now that there's nothing wrong with them. We've all got little things like arthritis and bad backs and hurting feet and we keep on working. You guys need to quit thinking about disability, that's all you live for and go back to work. If people don't start paying in to Social Security there's not going to be any left when we retire.
