Elmer Jackson
EAST PRAIRIE -- Elmer O'Neil Jackson, 64, died June 13, 2006, at the Sikeston Healthcare Center.
Born May 23, 1942 in Barnes Ridge, near East Prairie, son of Louis Leonard Jackson of Clinton, Miss. and the late Violet Marie Wilson Jackson, he had lived most of his life in Mississippi and New Madrid counties. A retired farmer, he was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors in addition to his father include: one son, Elliot Jackson of Plant City, Fla.; three daughters, Starline Adams and Diane Hendrix of Mineola, Fla. and Marla Jackson of Clermont, Fla.; two brothers, Leonard Jackson of Flora, Miss. and Jerry Jackson of Lilbourn; three sisters, Stella Simmons of Matthews, Jane Aycock of East Prairie and Judy Callahan of Raymond, Miss.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Frank Jackson, Ralph Jackson and Johnny Cleo Jackson.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. Mike Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Junior Jackson, Zach Jackson, Josh Jackson, Charlie Aycock, Todd Garner and Matthew Callahan.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Frankie Garner, Troy Garner, Shaun Garner, Chris Garner, Daniel Aycock, Jason Aycock, Billy Aycock, Stacy Jackson, Alan Jackson, Henry Jackson and Thomas Jackson.
