CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Sereda M. Lindsay, 67, died at 3:45 p.m. June 12, 2006, at The Carie Arbours in Savoy.
Born July 2, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., daughter of the late Eldon "Jake" and Sletta Mosley Hunt, she was a member of Salem Baptist Church and had worked in the Central Food Store at the University of Illinois for 27 years.
On April 2, 1972, in Champaign, she married James Lindsay, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five brothers, Jake Jones, Silas Hunt and Ignatius Hunt, all of Sikeston, Mo., Reginald Hunt of Columbia, S.C. and Eldon Hunt of Omaha, Neb.; and four sisters, Melody Goodall of Chicago, Ethel Poole of Denver, Colo., and Rita Savage and Evelyn Hunt, both of Sikeston.
One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at the Salem Baptist Church in Champaign. The Rev. Claude Shelby will officiate.
Additional visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
