POCAHONTAS, Ark. -- Charles Lea Meadows, 80, formerly of Dudley, Mo., died Sept. 19, 2006, at Pocahontas.

Born Jan. 2, 1926, in Melbourne, daughter of the late Jewell Hindman and Frances Johnson Miller, she was a former member of the Dudley Church of God where she was active with the Ladies Willing Workers. A former member of the Art Society of Dexter, Mo., she was a former seamstress for Elder Manufacturing Co.

On Oct. 4, 1941, at Anniston, Mo., she married Charles Thomas Meadows who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1980.

Three daughters, Frances June Rains, Rose Meadows and Diane Meadows; two half brothers, Larry Miller and James Miller; and two half sisters, Jackie Borders and Faye Miller, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Jewell Thomas Meadows of Riverside, Calif., and Darrell Dean Meadows of Ellerslie, Ga.; three daughters, Carol Jean Conley of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sharon Sides of Dexter and Dorothy Moore of Pocahontas; one half sister, Jessie Ann Graham of Charleston, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Revs. Len Ables and Randy West officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.
