Authorities identify body found in Pemiscot County
CARUTHERSVILLE - A body discovered June 9 in Pemiscot County has been identified as an Arkansas woman.
Authorities have determined the body located on County Highway 556 and 547 is Rosemary Rocket of Blytheville, Ark. Rockett was reported missing June 2 by family members.
An autopsy on June 11 at the Mineral Area Hospital in Farmington determined that there was no indications of a gun shot wound, stab wound, strangulation or blunt trauma. Toxicology samples were taken and those results are due in the next two weeks.
According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, on June 9 Pemiscot County deputies were notified by a local farmer who had located a body of a female in a treeline along a field. Investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Division of Drug and Crime Control and Pemiscot County began a search locally and in Arkansas for missing person.
Based on the description of the female, Blytheville Police Department stated they had taken a report on June 2 of a woman who had not been seen since May 30. Rockett's family searched for her two days in the Blytheville area before making the actual missing persons report on June 2, authorities said.
Rockett's identity was established through her fingerprints on June 13.
