SIKESTON - A selling price of $361,093 has been set for the new speculative shell building being constructed near the Sikeston Power Plant. Sikeston Development Council Inc., which met briefly Monday night following the SDC meeting, unanimously approved that selling price projection will commission.

ORAN - The Oran Board of Education is scheduled to hear a report Wednesday from a Sikeston architect concerning the sagging roof over the high school gymnasium. Theon Grojean, an architect and engineer of Sikeston who evaluated the problem, reports the center truss of the gym's roof gave way and is sagging about nine inches. The area has been roped off because of the possibility of a collapse.

SIKESTON - The 2nd Annual Redneck BBQ Cook-off was held on Saturday at the Chamber grounds. This event was free to the public and free samples of barbecue and Good Humor-Breyers ice cream were given out.

SIKESTON - Chris LeDoux closed out the 44th Annual Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo to a capacity crowd. LeDoux sang, danced and even shot off fireworks during his time on stage.
