Virginia Glaus
BENTON - Virginia Magdaline Glaus, 87, died at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 19, 2006, at Chateau Girardeau Healthcare Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 30, 1919, in New Hamburg, to the late William M. and Lucy H. Grojean LeGrand, she was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the choir. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and past president of the Benton Senior Citizens and American Legion Auxiliary.
On Sept. 21, 1939, at New Hamburg, she married Lawrence Glaus, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1990.
One son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Suzi Glaus; four brothers; and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jill Glaus of New Madrid; two brothers, Bill LeGrand of Cape Girardeau and Tony LeGrand of Sikeston; one sister, Dorothy Hipes of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Mildred LeGrand of Benton; three granddaughters, Gina Lowrey of Prairie Village, Kan., Heidi Glaus of St. Louis and Jodi Pingel of Ballwin; and three great-
grandchildren, Logan Lowrey, Garrett Lowrey and Jude Pingel.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Normand Varone will serve as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery.
