NEW MADRID -- Elva May Chesser, 97, died July 14, 2006, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 19, 1909, in Mississippi, to the late Claude and Delia Rider Lancaster.
She married Frank Blackwell, who preceded her in death.
One son, Terrell Blackwell, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Edwin Blackwell of Palacios, Texas; one daughter, Nell Langley of New Madrid; two sisters, Nell Bennett and Mary Ruth Champion, both of New Madrid; and 10 grandchildren and 30 great-
grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews.
