Major meth supplier nabbed

HAYTI -- A major supplier of methamphetamine in the northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri areas was arrested Monday in an undercover operation by several law enforcement agencies.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, the sheriff's department and Bootheel Drug Task Force with assistance from the Second Judicial Task Force and Blytheville, Ark., Police Department arrested Arther James, 29, and Freddie Taylor, 38, both of Blytheville for delivering a controlled substance.

The arrest was the result of a buy-bust operation conducted off Highway 61 near the Arkansas state line. James and Taylor sold 12 grams of methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of cocaine to an undercover Bootheel Drug Task Force agent.

Authorities have identified James as being a major supplier of meth in the area.

Both James and Taylor are charged with two counts of delivering a controlled substance. Bond is set at $100,000 each.
