NEW MADRID - A petition was filed in circuit court today by the Sikeston R-6 Board of Education requesting that the district be permitted to intervene in the suit challenging the annexation of Morehouse C-12 school district to the R-6 district.
WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. Christopher Bond and John Danforth have announced that the U.S. Government Printing Office has awarded a contract for $376,700 to Media Press Inc. of Sikeston. The contract is for the production of chemical transfer mulit-forms for the Veterans Administration.

NEW MADRID - As part of a state grant, five cameras will be installed on school buses used in the New Madrid County R-1 School District. The district's board of education authorized the use of the cameras within the district's bus fleet during their March meeting.
