CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Everett "Bud" Milligan, 78, died at 1:13 p.m. July 23, 2008, in the emergency room at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 17, 1929, at Steele, to the late Raymond Buford and Vivian Elizabeth Cope Milligan, he was a retired truck driver and a former transportation teamster local worker in Cape Girardeau. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 63 and the Church of Christ, both in Cape Girardeau.

On Aug. 1, 1960, he married Icess "Icy" Markland and she preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2001.

Survivors include: three sons, David Hardesty of Cape Girardeau, Stephan Hardesty of Barnhart and Phillip Milligan of Eureka; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Bryan McAlister and Bob Housby will officiate.

A graveside service conducted by the American Legion Post No. 63 will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
