SIKESTON -- The 56th annual Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo played host to an over flowing sea of people Friday night as many were left standing during the third round action.
In the bareback riding event Kelly Timberman earned the highest marks, scoring an 87 while Luke West took second with a 75. Chuck Kite finished third with a 73.
Casey Harmon, 4.7 seconds, edged out Jordan Auker, 4.8, in the steer wrestling event while Bucky Harmon took third with a time of 14.1 after a ten second penalty.
During the saddle bronc Jesse Kruse held on tight for a score of 86. Josh Reynolds took second with an 84 while Bobby Griswold finished third with an 83.
Cade Swor tied his steer the quickest in the down roping event with a time of 9.2 while Seth Emerson finished second with a time of 13.1. Casey Harmon took third at 15.9.
In the team roping event Gerry Lisby and Brant Spurgin lassoed their steer in 5.7 seconds. The duo of Shawn Harris and Brandon Thone earned second with a 6.1 while Jesse Echtler and Reese Kerr finished third at 7.3.
The ladies took the arena in the for the next event as Annessa Seif broke the barrier the quickest at a time of 16.19 seconds while Sabra O'Quinn followed her close behind at 16.38. Bobbie Jo Bohlam received third at a time of 16.84.
The final event of the evening featured the bull riders. Seth Glause mounted Boss Man for the top score of 87. Zack Oakes earned second on the night with a score of 84 on Coffee Grinder while Mike Moore took third with an 82 on Drifter.
