HARDIN, Ky. -- Elden Glenn Collins, 74, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died at 8 p.m. Aug. 17, 2008, in the Calloway County Hospital in Murray.
Born May 19, 1934, in East Prairie, to the late John Everett and Minnie Summers Collins, he formerly owned and operated the ABC Moving and Storage Company in Chesterfield, Mo., before retiring to Hardin in 1986.
Survivors include: one son, Glenn David Collins of Stafford, Va.; two brothers, Thomas Everett Collins of East Prairie and Donald W. Collins of Quincy, Ill.; three sisters, Helen Harrison of Brandon, Fla., Georgia Veatch of Ballwin, Mo., and LaRue Wilson of East Prairie; and one grandchild.
One brother, John Wesley Collins, and one sister, Merrillian Simpkins, preceded him in death.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery with Larry Smith officiating.
