SIKESTON -- Fay Box, age 94, went to be with the Lord on Monday Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence in Sikeston.

She was born on May 29, 1914, in Hagarville, Ark., to the late Earl Jeffrey and Criner Snow Netwon. She was a housewife and homemaker and had also worked for 17 years in the housekeeping department for Missouri Delta Medical Center. She attended the River of Life Worship Center in Sikeston and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers.

On Jan. 9, 1932, in Crowder, she married Amos J. Box who preceded her in death on April 8, 1966.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, Pam Delgado, and one great-great-grandson.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Ruth Box of Dexter, Jay and Barbara Box of Sikeston and James and Faye Box of New Madrid; three daughters and sons-in-law, Murline and Luther Mitchem of Arnold, Nadine and Gene Lucy and Deloris and Perry Yount of Sikeston; six grandchildren, Rick Box of Clarksville, Tenn., Randy Box and Brand Yount of Sikeston, Brian Box of Jacksonville, Fla., Michelle Mitchem of Arnold and DeAnna Malloy of Dexter; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Valeria Edwards of Indiana and Sallie Matthews and Vera Barton of Bryant, Ark.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Nunnelee Chapel with the Rev. Greg Forester, pastor of the River of Life Worship Center, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Rick Box, Randy Box, Brad Yount, Brian Box, Bucky Malloy, Brice Box and Blake Box.

Honorary pallbearers will be: J.R. Sullivan, Jeff DeWitt, Gary DeWitt, Lionel DeWitt, Larry DeWitt, Lonnie DeWitt and Phil DeWitt.
