Your View: Idea brewing

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Hello, I am Gloria Samuelson and I have just returned to live in Sikeston again. God has placed a desire in my heart to open a small Christian coffee house in this area. I heard a pastor preach a message recently and "cumi" mean to come forth or little maid arise.

I feel this town would benefit in having such a coffee house and one that is affordable. Not having to offer a huge line of coffee, but more a narrow and healthy line of a warm delicious coffee, some warm pastries and bread.

If you feel this can be a ministry, perhaps your church would like to leave literature in the coffee shop. Please give me a call at 573-472-6266. I am not a wealthy person, but I am called of God and my desire is to follow where He leads.

So many people will come in and drink coffee or iced tea. What an opportunity to offer a peaceful, loving atmosphere where one can rest and gather their thoughts. We are all on a journey and we all can do something to help someone - even if it's to offer a listening ear, a hand to share or say a prayer.

Perhaps your church will gain new faces and my hopes are as the walk in they will walk out satisfied and renewed. I am praying for financial support and just the right place for such a coffee house ministry.

I challenge this community to arise and together we can make a difference for families, our neighbors, and in the process, meet new friends and let Jesus shine through each of us.

If you're not moving forward and toward better things in this life then perhaps this is your opportunity, step out and dare to believe. I promise God will do the rest for us all.
