SIKESTON - The first ever Sikeston city softball tournament begins tonight at VFW Stadium when the Matthews Merchants hook up with Trinity Baptist. The game begins at 6 p.m., followed by games between Cooney Equipment and Bement Baptist at 7:30 p.m. and Budweiser taking on the Presbyterians at 9 p.m. The tournament continues throughout the week.

SIKESTON - The SEMO Shrine Clowns will appear at the Southeast Missouri Big Brothers/Big Sisters third annual Celebrity Strikes Bowl-A-Thon on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Imperial Lanes Bowling Alley in Sikeston. They invite everyone to come and join the fun that includes complementary refreshments, prizes and local celebrities.

SIKESTON - Sikes Sporting Goods and Falkoff's held a tent sale recently at American Legion Park. This was the first time that merchants downtown have conducted a tent sale for customers.
