JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- The Sikeston 13-year-old All-Stars beat Pacific Southwest 7-5 in an American Division pool play contest at Diethrick Park in Jamestown on Monday afternoon. Sikeston All-Stars move to 2-1 in pool play; set to play Southeast team today

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- The Sikeston 13-year-old All-Stars beat Pacific Southwest 7-5 in an American Division pool play contest at Diethrick Park in Jamestown on Monday afternoon.

In a tied 4-4 game in the sixth inning, Josh King gave Sikeston the lead with a RBI-single to right field, scoring Tyler Anderson. Sikeston then plated two more runs in the inning when Andrew Harper knocked in a pair to push the lead to 7-4.

Sikeston was trailing by two in the fifth inning when Cord Sheehy tied the game with a two-run single.

Pacific Southwest had the early lead in the third when Sikeston got on board with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

King and Sheehy each went 2-for-4 while Harper, Tyler Neal and Sheehy all had two RBI for Sikeston.

Ben McKendall, Javier Tamayo and Michael Pagan each had two hits for the Pacific Southwest with McKendall crushing both a double and a triple.

Trey Tigart picked up the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings while allowing five runs (four earned) on 11 hits. He struck out two and walked two.

The Ron Tellefsen Player's of the Game were Sheehy and Pagan.

Sikeston is now 2-1 in pool play and will next play Southeast at noon today.

The Pacific Southwest team is now (1-1) in pool play and will return to action against the Middle Atlantic team tonight at 8 p.m. Middle Atlantic (1-0) is the only undefeated team in American Division pool play.
